Horizon Line is a new thriller survival movie from the writers of 10 Cloverfield Lane that takes place in a single-engine Cessna plane.
The film company STX Entertainment has released a trailer for Horizon Line, a new survival movie from 10 Cloverfield Lane and The Shallows creators. This is one of the few recent films to be announced since the coronavirus pandemic’s outbreak earlier this year brought many productions to a halt.
The Horizon Line trailer, published to the official STX Entertainment YouTube channel, gives a brief overview of the simple survival story. The main character Sara, played by Allison Williams, and her ex-boyfriend Jackson, played by Alexander Dreymon, are taken up into the sky for a brief ride in a Cessna airplane. But when their pilot has a heart attack, Sara has to take over piloting to get them to safety. The film will be premiering on-demand on December 18th, allowing viewers to have a safe, at-home viewing experience. You can view the full trailer below.
Horizon Line boasts an impressive crew: Allison Williams is best known for her stunning performance in Jordan Peele’s critically acclaimed horror film Get Out. Writers Josh Campbell & Matthew Stuecken have been praised for their clever writing with 10 Cloverfield Lane. However, reaction to the trailer has been relatively negative, with many commenting that the movie looks basic and predictable. The simplicity of the survival plot may be a huge benefit for Horizon Line, or it may be the film’s downfall.
